2012 is here, so now what?  With the start of the year finally here, many of us including myself may be seeking to reinvent our tired individual wheels into something magical for a change.  Consulting your favourite magazine for what’s new on the runway or what’s hot on the shelf is where many of us will start.

Rihanna keeps it hot in a sexy red dress on the cover of Glamour Russia; color obviously still a major trend despite the cold.  I would have been shocked not to see Rihanna on the cover of some January 2012 issue; I mean she is a major fashion trail blazer, along with others like Nicki Minaj who left a huge imprint on fashion in 2011.  She may not conventional but I know I’d be lying to myself if I didn’t admit her wacky style is just a little more than intriguing.  It takes some serious balls to pull out some of the looks she’s worn on a regular day forget stage costumes.

Other major covers included the faces of Lady Gaga on Elle UK, Angelina Jolie, Kimora Lee Simmons and Lily Cole.

I’ve connected with some really great people through the fashion blogging community online through twitter, and social communities like independent fashion bloggers. The two lovely ladies of Artblt.com Shermika and Tamika and I met by chance during some back and forth tweeting on Twitter.  (Shermika was actually the orient watches giveaway winner! How random is that, so not a setup I swear!)

After messaging for a few weeks the two were kind enough to showcase some of my work including this drawing I did of Rihanna my little “Queen clutch” and various others in an interview on their blog.

Another week has come and gone, but the looks that have graced the red carpets, and star studded events remain; here’s 7 looks that stood out from the sea of Louis V and Christian C.

Rachel Roy// Love the modern fresh faced minimal make up approach to this look.  No one wear Rachel Roy Collection better than the designer herself,  in a classic black and white Rachel Roy Collection ensemble  paired with banded sandals and a hot pink satin clutch she’s still every bit the lady and more!

Rihanna// Almost the best look of the week for me, Rihanna was a stunner at the Billboard awards in her white Max Azria pant suit paired with nude colored Christian Louboutins.

Jennifer Lopez// Jumpsuits are back!  Jenny brought her showcased her hot body in sparkly champagne colored  one by Halston paired with silver sandals.

Beyonce performs “Run the World (Girls)” in a sexy cut out dress, her crazy dance routines are sculpting her body into a work of art!  Time to hit the gym!

Nicki Minaj in her blue Mark Fast body suit + Versace Heels looks like a mermaid never without her trademark pink hair and lips.
