True Queen: Karis JG
I haven’t featured anyone for True Queen of the week…in Months! So when I saw Karis post this photo to her Facebook I was inspired and excited because I knew she was the next style Queen on my hit list. Karis is obviously gorgeous and has the style knowledge to match, her white sleeveless shirt, mint colored skinnies and nude/orange sandals have an air of high sophistication and cool summer simplicity. LOVING IT!
Residing in the bustling city of Toronto Karis was nice enough to answer a few questions about her style for us:
What beauty products do you swear by? For beauty products I swear by Mac lipstick and Mixed Chicks leave in conditioner
How would you classify your style? I’d call my style uhhh casual sheek? Lol never been asked
Favourite summer trend? My favorite summer trend is definitely bold colors and prints, my least is those hideous clingy polyester dresses that have all those blingy accents…u know those ones lol the Malvern/Cedarbrae dresses especially worn with tights
(LMAO I know exactly what your talking about! Toronto Catties!)

Totes To Fall For
I just found out what the coming month will be like for me with the arrival of my school schedule. Now more than ever, the reality of hitting the books night after long wearing night is really starting to set in. Am I ready? I’m not sure but I don’t have much choice I’m going to hit the school year head on and do my best to keep up.
This realization of course sparks the “back-to-school” urges in me that I use to giggle and squeal over back in high school. Nostalgic feelings about the big day are flooding back, although I highly doubt this year will have the same dramatic effect. I’m a little bit more excited about what to wear, and what piece of arm candy I plan on marrying to my shoulder for the next few months. Here’s a couple of totes I’ve got my eyes on, not necessarily planning on dishing out designer bucks but these bags are where my head is at in terms of style. Any hot bags on your mind for school this year?

Nothin’ Like a Rucksack
The Ruck Sack by Empress-TQ featuring a brown backpack
Monday morning I felt like I was back in high school, as I got ready for my first day of…well sort of. I’m gearing up for September at and had to go write one of those skills assessment tests. Dreading every minute of it because I know there’s going to be some math on there and god knows I’m no mathematician. I was however excited to be surrounded by college lifestyle again. There’s no other place you can find such an array of different styles, tastes and diversity of people.
As I packed my purse with all my daily essentials like lip gloss, which I can’t go a day without, a snack..I hate get stranded without food..and all the other pieces of my get fixed quick aresenel it dawned on me that I soon won’t be able to strut around with my purse!
Schools going to mean a laptop and books, and books equal a book bag...right? There are other options; messenger bags, tote bags, the older ladies love the backpacks on wheels. But nothing says higher learning like the ruck sack.
I had my very own back in elementary school, looking through these is very nostalgic for me, it reminds me of being young and care free…

Beyonce Does Easter Brunch in Marc Jacobs
Beyonce spent her Easter taking in brunch with hubby Jay-Z in Paris wearing Marc Jacobs. Fresh faced no make up here works well against her multitude of polka dots, and red/green color combination. She stomps in Christian Louboutins and a mean matching black satchel.
Always the lady Bey doesn’t leave out some bold tear dropped dangle earrings in a swanky teal and gold color combination.

Does Anybody Wear Raincoats Anymore?
I have a love hate relationship with the rain; I love how cool it makes the air after a heavy down pour and how calming and therapeutic listening to the rain drops can be after a long day, and the stresses of my hectic life. What I do find annoying is having to carry an umbrella where ever I go; I like to have as little in my hands as possible. Pushing a stroller, carrying a purse while balancing an umbrella over my head while trying to avoid looking like a wet dog, is a task that I often find daunting. Not only that but trying not to lose that umbrella before, during and after reaching my destination is a challenge in itself.
