January 2012 Mag Covers
2012 is here, so now what? With the start of the year finally here, many of us including myself may be seeking to reinvent our tired individual wheels into something magical for a change. Consulting your favourite magazine for what’s new on the runway or what’s hot on the shelf is where many of us will start.
Rihanna keeps it hot in a sexy red dress on the cover of Glamour Russia; color obviously still a major trend despite the cold. I would have been shocked not to see Rihanna on the cover of some January 2012 issue; I mean she is a major fashion trail blazer, along with others like Nicki Minaj who left a huge imprint on fashion in 2011. She may not conventional but I know I’d be lying to myself if I didn’t admit her wacky style is just a little more than intriguing. It takes some serious balls to pull out some of the looks she’s worn on a regular day forget stage costumes.
Other major covers included the faces of Lady Gaga on Elle UK, Angelina Jolie, Kimora Lee Simmons and Lily Cole.

Where There’s Smoke…There’s Models
Smoking and high fashion models are often seen hand in hand; one appears to compliment the other. There are a number of models who smoke including Kate Moss who is a legend in her own right, Adriana Lima one of the top Victoria Secret angels, Daria Werbowy and Lily Cole are also major smoking offenders.
What do you think about the image this perpetuates? Positive? Negative? Neutral? Is it a woman’s right model or not to have her own personal vices?
Never the less it’s hard not to admit the images are striking, one can’t help wonder what the subject of these images are contemplating; they look lost in thought, and peaceful.

Models: Lily Cole in Prada At The 2011 Jameson Empire Awards
British model Lily Cole attended the The Jameson Empire Awards 2011 at The Grosvenor House Hotel in a hot canary yellow Prada mini. She paired her fairy like look with a Jeweled headband and barely there contrasting black and white strapped sandals. Her already fairy like appearance helps her pull this look off without a hitch.
I love the dress but personally would have paired them with some nude pumps to let the bold color take center stage. Overall I still love this dress.
