2012 is here, so now what?  With the start of the year finally here, many of us including myself may be seeking to reinvent our tired individual wheels into something magical for a change.  Consulting your favourite magazine for what’s new on the runway or what’s hot on the shelf is where many of us will start.

Rihanna keeps it hot in a sexy red dress on the cover of Glamour Russia; color obviously still a major trend despite the cold.  I would have been shocked not to see Rihanna on the cover of some January 2012 issue; I mean she is a major fashion trail blazer, along with others like Nicki Minaj who left a huge imprint on fashion in 2011.  She may not conventional but I know I’d be lying to myself if I didn’t admit her wacky style is just a little more than intriguing.  It takes some serious balls to pull out some of the looks she’s worn on a regular day forget stage costumes.

Other major covers included the faces of Lady Gaga on Elle UK, Angelina Jolie, Kimora Lee Simmons and Lily Cole.

Lady Gaga never seems to run out of wild ideas; her latest Cover and spread for Harpers Bazaar May 2011 feature the mysterious pop icon sprawled out on top of a dope crystal piano…that I need for my space asap…in bare any clothing at all.

Funny that the celebrity in Hollywood who wears the least clothes is the most inspiring.  Shot by Terry Richardson Gaga is featured with cutting edge cheeks, forehead and shoulders with dip dyed pink waves and heavy eyeliner. What can we expect…she was born this way.  She addresses what these actually are in her interview with Derek Blasberg.   Please note the ankle boots….they’re so Gaga!

She had this to say about the issue of body modification, plastic surgery and her destiny:

“I have never had plastic surgery, and there are many pop singers who have. I think that promoting insecurity in the form of plastic surgery is infinitely more harmful than an artistic expression related to body modification.”

This video is wayyy too long, I think she needs to cut out this 8 min long thing out, it’s too much, but regardless I watched it from start to end.  I’ll let you watch for yourself and draw your own opinions.

Lady Gaga was spotted arriving at the Narita International Airport in Japan last night in her usual over the top Gaga style; black platforms boots and very wide pants.  But this time I think you’ll all agree it has gone too far….last night Gaga committed one of the highest crimes in fashion; she wrote all over her Birkin Bag!  But it’s all in love as her message states “I love small monster, Tokyo Love” in Japanese.  Would you ever put your Birkin (if you had one) on the floor let alone write all over it????  Has Gaga taken it too far??

In other news Gaga is reportedly celibate, this in my opinion is not a bad thing at all, too many people rush to “know” each other before knowing each other. She had this to say on the issue.

‘I can’t believe I’m saying this – don’t have sex. I’m single right now and I’ve chosen to be single because I don’t have the time to get to know anybody. So it’s OK not to have sex, it’s OK to get to know people. I’m celibate, celibacy’s fine.’
