In Fashion there are a lot of grey areas, but some things are black and white and at the 3rd Annual Black Women in Hollywood Luncheon, this was evident by the dress we saw on the red carpet.

Nudes, nudes, nudes, my mind is boiling over with all the nude inspired outfits we’ve been seeing lately.  This spring 2010 trend is the biggest of them all, and I think if just enough people start wearing these soft barely there colors, we just might will ourselves into an early spring season.

Anika Noni Rose has been a busy bee, she just hosted the NAACP Image awards this week,, she stays consistent in her smart choice to rock this Carmen Marc Valvo Fall 2008, belted black and white ruffle tiered dress.  I like the shape it creates, and the black belt makes her waist appear teeny tiny. She paired her dress with black pumps which ground the entire outfit.

Jada Pinkett Smith went for a more eclectic look, in a mid thigh v-neck satin tunic in a soft beige color.  She also uses the opportunity to accessories with several bangles and a strappy studded sandal.  What makes this look pop for me is the hair; it complements the overall theme very well.

Zoe Saldana looks lovely in a nude lace ruffle tiered Valentino spring 2010 mini dress.  She’s one of my favourite red carpet starlets, and she’s only gaining momentum with her style with every new dress we see her in. For darker skin tones nude is not always nude, a cognac color open toe sandal suits her well in replicating the barely there look in the footwear department.

The 41st NAACP Image Awards were last week, and I’ve finally gotten around to posting about the style winners on the red carpet!  I didn’t actually get a chance to watch the awards; I’ve been running around like a chicken with my head cut off lately! I would have liked to see how all the dresses moved and behaved, but based on the pictures here’s who made the cut: 

Keke Palmer in this gorgeous yellow BCBG Max Azria gown, which earns her the best, dressed of the evening.  She’s glowing from head to toe, and growing into an amazingly talented and stunning young woman.  Top marks! 

Keri Hilson looks like she dropped 5 pounds just for this event in a body hugging black Rami Kashou ruffle skirted dress.  Love the visual effect and enhancement of Keri’s long lean legs, her hair is on point, and absent of the peroxide which we’re use to seeing.  No jewellery required in a dress like this you are the jewels!

Recording artist Keri Hilson walked the red carpet at the ESPN The Magazine Next Event in Miami Beach Florida late last week in a sheer, graphic print black and white dress, and matching ankle boots.

Love, love love it.  The sheer material is sexy and the graphic print all over adds modesty, keep this up Keri and you might make Queen of the week!

Other celebrities like tennis superstar Venus Williams, The Real Housewives of Atlanta Nene Leaks, and The Hill’s star Audrina Patridge were also there.  Audrina and Nene both wore their own black ensembles respectivley, all the ladies looked great. More pics after you hit it.

Recording artist Keri Hilson walked the red carpet at the 52nd Annual Grammy Awards in Los Angeles last night looking like a 10 from head to toe.  In a Dolce & Gabbana nude peach mermaid gathered hem dress, with crystal waistband, she was the epitome of sweet.   For a pop of color she wore purple eye shadow and Neil Lane jewels. 

So glad she chose something elegant and sweet for the nights events, the gold on gold on gold outfit she wore to the Pre Grammy’s was a complete disaster.

Singer Ciara arrives on the red carpet at the Recording Academy and Clive Davis 52^ndAnnual Pre Grammy Gala.  She rocked an outfit straight off the runway of the Givenchy s/s haute couture fashion show.  I think that being the inspiration for the collection or the “muse” has influenced her bad choice to wear this outfit.  Her make-up and boot+short combo are on point, but not feeling the fur it’s way too much.  How can you eat with that on?

Katy Perry and boyfriend Russell Brand were also at the event.  Katy really loves to sparkle on the red carpet and this dress is no exception.  She’s rocking a Georges Chakra Fall 2009 halter dress and matching gold peep toe pumps.  Seems like she and Russell are the real deal, they’re beginning to grow on me.  Again not something I would select but it matches her ‘Waking up in Las Vegas” style.  Check the rest of the pics.
