Ashanti, Jessica Szhor, Whitney Port, and Gabourey Sibide, all attended the New York Premiere of Sex and The City 2 last night, LBD’s a blazing.  I’m not sure if these ladies coordinated but obviously there was something in the air.

Julissa Bermudez looked super sweet in a bright sea blue BCBG Max Azaria mini and Proenza Schouler platform Sandals.  This is something more along the lines of what I wanted to see on the carpet arrivals; it’s summer go for something fun!

Another week has come and gone, but as the sun sets and the moon rises the people, parties and fashion never stops. Michelle Obama, Kelly Rowland, Rachel Roy, Zoe Kravitz, Alek Wek, Fergie, Tracee Ellis Ross, Kim Kardashian, Gabourey Sidibe,  and a whole slew of other hot Hollywood stars stepped out to make another telling fashion statement this week.

“Precious” break out star Gabourey Sidibe took to the red carpet at the 2010 Oscars tonight on the same wavelength as her co-star Mo’Nique in a dazzling cobalt blue Marchesa gown.

I haven’t liked many of her past selections, but I’m glad to say that this one is a hit!  The floral detail on the bust draw the eye up to a glowing face and the cap sleeves add modesty.  The long flowing gown has a long train that adds that little extra to make this a successful red carpet gown. 

Gabourey is nominated for best actress; tonight I wish her the best of luck!

Jamie Winstone a British Actress who played “Becky” in the movie “Kidulthood” channels  a sultry Marilyn Monroe look in a backless Alexander McQueen nude gown.  Love this look from head to toe; the hair is Old Hollywood glam and more than appropriate for the red carpet.  The lack of jewels was a good choice here, her bold hair and red lips is more than enough to carry off this dress.

English singer/model Kimberly Walsh rocks a white metallic embellished Jenny Packham gown, with fur collar.  Personally don’t like the fur I find the dress is already quite busy, and the fur doesn’t add anything of value.  But I love the dress and would have loved to see it minus the fur throw.

TrueQueen Zoe Saldana, walked the red carpet in this ruffled maroon Louis Vuitton dress.   I wouldn’t normally like something like this, but it looks so good on her she makes me wanna try it on!

Drew Berrymore wore Atelier Versace Fall 2009 one shoulder gown in nude and covered with crystals. Interesting cluster details at the shoulder and waist.  Kate Hudson wore a Marchesa Bridal Spring 2010 gown with with a corset like bodice.  This dress looks heavy and so do the shoes, so for me not a great combo.

Gabourey Sidibe of “Precious” wore a floor Kevin Hall Dress, with an empire wasit and Swarovski clutch for the night.  She was up for  Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture -Drama for her role in Precious (Based on the Novel Push by Sapphire).

Toni Collette is wearing one of my favs for the evening, a gorgeous gold Elie Saab gown and Neil Lane diamond earrings, ring and and bracelets.

True Blood Co-Stars Deborah Ann Wholl and Michelle Forbes stop and pose at the AFI awards held late this past week.  Deborah in a navy peasant like dress, the color goes very well with her pale skin, and red hair.  The dress itself reminds me of her character on the shows fashion sense, not sure if thats a good thing off set.  Michelle keeps in simple in a LBD.

Gabourey Sibide and Julianna Moore were also at the event; Gabourey in a long red dress and boots, and Julianna in a grey pant suit and black clutch.  Classic I love when women wear pant suits!
