Hey ladies!

I’ve been cutting back on the spending, but a few weeks ago I hooked up with my girl Jandry (amazing photographer, love her to death check her out here) to go catch up since I hadn’t seen her in forever.  I couldn’t help  picking up a few things including these two really cute tops from Forever 21.  I was suppose to be looking for one thick sweater ended up with two of the lighter variety but hey I’m a master at layers so I’ll find a way to work it out in the cold.  I haven’t worn the yellow one yet I’m considering wearing it for my b-day Saturday night…I’m just so in love with the marigold color and zebra print!

I’ve already worn the one on the right with the brown stripes and love how it hangs and think I’m going to wear it again to school tomorrow so look out for an outfit post on that!

I want you all to meet my girl Kara.  Kara and I have been working together for just over a year and became really good friends, often cramming or skipping lunch to spend our break on a power shop.  She’s always up for a trip to the mall to pick up things we both know very well we don’t need. But hey that’ the best part about being a girl

I haven’t show cased any bloggers lately so I thought I’d start with a friend.  I asked Kara to share a few things about her fashion sense, with us:

 

1. I know you love shopping very much.  Very very much, lol share with us a few of your favourite spots to shop.

Everywhere and everything!! Lol but really costa blanca, urban planet, h&m, forever 21

2. Have any beauty tips you to share?

Always take care of your skin, exfoliate and moisturize. I want to keep my skin beautiful forever!! Also I think its more of a motto than tip lol but… If all else fails, look cute!!  (Completely agree skincare is oh so important)

3. Name an absolute fashion/beauty item you’d go banana’s if you had to live without?

I can’t live without lip gloss. Its a necessity for me. I don’t have a fav brand though, I’m forever trying new ones.

4. Where or who do you take your inspiration from?

I love a variety of styles. But I’ll say my top 3 fashion inspirations for dressing are Beyonce, Kerry Washington and Jessica Simpson. Each very different but each of them are bold, cute, classy and sexy.

5. Favourite good eats?

Everything? Lol not really but bubble tea, almost anything Starbucks, butter chicken, chicken pad Thai, shawarmas.

6. Weirdest thing in your purse right now?

Feminine napkin wipes lol

Saturday! Oh how I live for Saturdays.  I spent my coveted weekend at the movies with my hubby Jarratt; there’s so many good movies out that I actually spent the last two days there.  Friday night I watched Bridesmaids with my girl Jandry; HILARIOUS.  Saturday Jarratt and I took in an action flick; X-Men First Class which btw was incredible.  I’m a little late catching it but if you haven’t seen it already…go!

I wore my new turquoise shorts which I got for 11 bucks at Forever, and my new favourite necklace of a gold and blue beaded little bird.  It’s just too cute and takes center stage on my chest since it’s looped at either end it lays completely flat.  For a little contrast my black and white cardy did the trick, I really do love the fact that it’s shorter in the back I think it makes for a nice touch.

After the film of course being at Fairview Mall everyday because I work there, we decided to shop. Man it seemed like everything was on sale!  Mexx was having a 50% of everything sale, I grabbed my little man Emijah some nice Tees and shorts for any upcoming bbq’s, gotta be ready for that!  J got some stuff from H&M for work, big sale there too.  But me?  I contained my excitement and kept my wallet closed on shopping for myself since I had just recently raided I think I need to go on a shopping strike, but with certain friends I have that’s damn near impossible! Your such a bad influence! You know who you are!

Forever 21 has just put together a very cute Minnie Muse holiday collection just in time for the 2010 christmas season. Minne Muse being  the perfect animated character to epitomize every Parisian diva I’m loving the idea of this collection.  There are a few really cute pieces like the red Minnie head print cardi and the Japanese patterned sweats.

Doesn’t look like these will be available in Canada anytime soon, because I only see it on the US site, which sucks, I’d actually pick up a few pieces for myself.

Walked into Forever 21 and noticed these t-shits and tanks created by Danny Roberts of Igor+Andre for Forever 21 of 6 apparently very influential fashion bloggers; Alice of Alice Point, Geri of Because I’m Addicted,  Louise Ebel of Pandora, Nadia of Style Bytes, The Fashion Duo and The Fashion Squad.  This just goes to show how powerful the independent fashion blogger has become in the industry.  Even inspiring others to create fashion based on them.

How wicked would it be to have someone love your blog enough to want to recreate your image on a shirt and sell it in one of the most popular fashion blogger hot spots (one of; there are a few others I love, Zara, H&M…yeah you get me).  What’s more is I was never a reader of any of these blogs before seeing these Tee’s so the promotion for these girls is RIDIC…

I have checked out 4 of the 6 blogs, the other two I wasn’t too sure if I was in the right place; and I really like Alice Point and Because I’m addicted.  Nothing against the other ones, these just stick out too me as a blog that I would actually visit on a daily basis.  Now that I’ve been introduced to these fine fashionista’s I think I will add them to the list of stylish bloggers whose lives interest and fascinate me….I know sounds kinda stalkerish written out like that…but you know it’s all about the fashion right?

Now that these Tee’s are out, you think you’ll pick up one or all of them?  Are these bloggers actually blogs you visit on your own time? I think the tanks/tees are cool, but for now I’ll pass on picking one up.  What if someone who actually reads these blogs comes up to me expecting me to know what Alice wore last week?  I’d freeze from the embarrassment of representing someone I know nothing about.  I really don’t want to instigate an awkward conversation until I’m fully prepared to say yes I am a fan of Alice, I check her blog everyday!

Do you think it really matters if I or anyone else for that matter is an active reader on any of these blogs at all?  Maybe I should just make a Tee with my own face on it and represent me..I can draw too….What do you think queens?
