Donna Karen showed her collection on Day 5 of New York Fashion Week.  A little disappointed and intrigued at the same time at the lack of color she decided to go with.  Black came in the form of powerful satin gowns and feathered frocks, and ruffled shrugs.  Mary Jane’s were paired with matching black tights, for a dark 40’s take on some preppy and evening looks.  

There were the occasional pops of color, in the form of a deep royal purple, which I just love.  The first image is perfect for any red carpet event and happens to be my favourite; I would love to see Victoria Beckham in it. The models looked fearsome with tightly pulled back hair, black head bands and come hither red lips.

Lady Gaga amongst a wide variety of other musicians, actresses and models walked the red carpet at the amfAR New York Gala to kick off NYF Week 2010.  Have you noticed something a little different about Lady Gaga?  Wells she’s actually got hundreds little pearls glued to her face, legs and body.  I can’t imagine the time and patience that took. Her look is completely devoid of any color except the pink lip gloss she’s got on her lips, which is actually a special edition color named after her by M.A.C cosmetics.  The proceeds of this limited edition color will go towards AIDS research.  Such interesting way to showcase that color.

Zoe Versus Zoe!  Two of my favourite girls, Actress and my favourite movie Avatar star Zoe Saldana faces off with fresh face of Vera Wang Zoe Kravitz for true style queen of the red carpet.  Zoe Saldana wore a Louis Vuitton Pre Fall 2010 short sleeved dress, and matching peep toe ankle boots.  Love her in print, she did it so well previously and was named True Queen of the week in Giambattista Valli last week.  Zoe rocked a strapless LBD and contrasting brown peep toes with black tights.  Which Zoe Queened the red carpet?

Living legend Iman wore a bright Angel Sanchez Resort 2010 teal one shoulder gown, with gold accessories and a sleek golden bun for a look which exudes elegance.  This is everything Iman stands for.  Love the gown, love the color.
