I’m A Modern Bride
From left: Vera Wang, Elie Saab SP 2012 RTW
It might just be that I’m still reeling from my fun filled weekend as a bridesmaid (to the very first wedding I’ve ever been too btw) but I can’t stop thinking in bridal mode. Being engaged myself I take note of all the sparkly items and ideas that I would use to decorate or wear for my own nuptials, which with school won’t be anytime soon unfortunately.
I can still dream though and for me I tend to stray away from anything too traditional. Of my girlfriends I was always the one to swear off wearing white, being older its not the white I’ll be swearing off but the traditional silhouette. A Modern bride is what I’m going to call this style I think suits my personality perfectly. Sexy, but sweet, innovative but still restrained describe these looks I found from the latest Spring 2011 RTW collections.
I’m Head over heels in love with Karlie Kloss in Marchesa (below) , it’s a smidgen off white and has a powerful understated opulence.
Will you wear a white gown at your own wedding?

Covers: Maryna Linchuk for Vogue Russia
I was struck by Maryna Linchuk in that neck piece, the contrast between something so hard, and outwardly painful, against her dress by Christian Dior; soft and delicate. Juxtaposition…gotta love it. Shot by Patrick Demarchelier for Vogue Russia.
Runway: Christian Dior Fall 2011
Without one word of Galliano and his unfortunate . Christian Dior a fan favourite for fall like experts showed us how to layer various colors and textures to create looks so rich in detail that I hardly find it possible to be bored with any one look.
From revealing sheer floor length dresses with feminine notes of sheer pastel chiffon, lace, and tulle complimented by the strong silhouettes of over the knee buckle boots, tweed coats, fur collars and over sized large brimmed hats, the collection was killer. With or without Galliano Christian Dior leaves her mark once again.
Runway: Christian Dior Haute Couture 2011
John Galliano presented a wickedly extravagant Haute Couture Collection yesterday in Paris. Obviously flowers in bloom were some small part of his inspiration. In the form of ball gowns and cocktail dresses, one would be able to find a wide variety of looks to create a bold statement. Based on past events I could see Sarah Jessica Parker in one of these pieces easily.
