Arm Candy

Hey loves!
Mid terms are coming up this week, but I don’t think I can study for much longer, if I read one more thing about medieval Europe I think I’ll spontaneously combust.  So obviously I have Facebook, Twitter and every other social community on full tilt, while my books slowly collect dust…
I’m however in the market for some new jewelry; bracelets in particular.  I usually mix my golds and silvers I’ve never been a one metal sorta gal, and with the weather as warm as it was in Toronto yesterday I can’t wait to bare my arms and layer them in tones of metal work of all random shapes colors and sizes.  What I love about this look is that its loaded with personality; I’m complex, one day I can channel sophisticated chic the next I’d swear I was Rihanna all rock glam, you can’t put me in a box, so don’t even try.
These pics are for my inspiration as much as yours; the one directly below has my eye, its so different.  I would have never considered a metal fabric mix but it works so well!
Do you layer your bracelets or keep your gold and silver metals separate?

True Eats: Baked Oatmeal with Bananas and Nuts

Images taken by me.  Recipe adopted from Joy the Baker

Yes, your eyes are not deceiving you…this oatmeal was baked.  And it was damn good too!

It seems so obvious… I mean I love oatmeal raisin cookies; who doesn’t?  But baking oatmeal for the sole purpose of eating it baked never occurred to me until Joy who came to the same revelation shared her recipe on her blog.  So I thought I’d try it out, and was pleasantly surprised.  I did modify the original recipe to have less sugar, and lowered the cholesterol hit by opting for egg whites instead of a whole yolk.

I popped the mixture in the oven, washed my hair and 20 minutes later was happily stuffing my face with spoon after spoonful of pure bliss.  Can’t wait to make the next batch!

March Wish List

March Wish List

This month I’m making the move towards color; bold colors! I’m usually wearing neutrals; browns, blues, navy, black and white.  If I do us color more often then not, it’s overpowered by black.  For March although the theme might traditionally be green, I’d love to pick up a pair of canary yellow jeans, and somemufti-hued pumps.

Bright bags have also become an obsession of mine. Black is not even an option right now, it’s all about adding kick to a recycled or simple look….Hi-yahhh!

I’ve only ever had one bright yellow bag in the past it was a Maxx New York hobo style; I’m thinking this time I’ll try an orange tote. I know I need a clutch, this hot pink is perf!

What colors and items are you coveting this month?

Toodles!

Ana Locking Fall 12-13 Capsule Collection

Images courtesy of Ana Locking

Ana Locking’s time capsule collection was presented at the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid and I love what I’m seeing.  Bold color combinations, and silhouettes that reach back into the 20′s, are completely wearable by today’s standards in the 21st century.

Men are adorned with pin collars, lapel flowers and breast-pocket handkerchiefs something you rarely see today, which I kinda like; it shows off that a man can pay just as close attention to detail as a woman.  For women an art deco approach to evening wear and structured jackets complete many flawless looks that strutted down the catwalk.

The collection was much larger, but of course I tried to narrow down my favorites.  Take a look after the jump.
