French Waffles + Blueberry Peach Topping with Zero Calorie Syrup!
I was dreaming about waffles all week, finally I decide to make some for BF yesterday. But the thought of drowning them in refined sugar makes me ill. I’d like to think I’m pretty health conscious, I mean don’t get me wrong I love my sweets, who doesn’t, but for the post part I’m selective, know when to say when, and make substitutions where ever necessary. An excess of sugar, fat or calories to me, is a high price to pay for a moment of satisfaction, so I’m always on the hunt for tasty alternatives. I love eating pancakes and waffles – watching my portions of course – but I haven’t consumed maple syrup in…lets just say ages. It’s been terribly long, so I’ve no idea when I had it last, until now! I stopped by the grocery store, browsed the aisles, determined to find something new to top my waffles and pancakes with, since I was getting a little tired of the 60 calorie snack pudding packs I usually used (they’re delicious but change was definitely overdue) I found this, Walden Farms pancake syrup with…ZERO calories…can we say jackpot! Walden Farms is a Canadian company that specializes in a whole line of calorie free products, including an amazing array of salad dressings, dips, jams dressings and more.
Celeb Style + First Post of 2013
This is my first post of 2013!
With the holiday season totally off the map, and the new year already well underway, I’ve finally had a chance to tear myself away from life and return to one of my fondest loves; blogging!
I’ve missed blogging so much, and scold myself mercilessly forever having stopped. I thought with the New Year this would be a great opportunity to get back into the swing of things, and return to sharing all the ideas I’ve been bubbling over with when it comes to the material world.
I don’t think of myself as a material person, I’d like to call my approach to clothes and fashion as more of a stylistic symbol of expression than anything else. Yes this might legitimize my penchant to shop, but I swear its true! I do sometimes imagine how much fun it would be to have the chance to style certain celebrities, some because they inspire me, others because they’ve no understanding of the word style. I mean they’re in the most expressive positions possible, with the various events that supersede the usual mundane day to day events like going to school and the grocery store, or staring at the mint green walls in the waiting room in the doctors office, they get to play dress up all the time, at awards ceremonies, balls and galas, concert performances, etc, their opportunities for expression are endless. It’s not fair!
So I decided to integrate a new addition to what will soon become my new blogging roster of posts, which I haven’t decided on a name for just yet, if anyone has any suggestions I would love to hear from you, but for my first run, I chose Victoria Beckham. I chose her mostly because her style speaks to me, she’s structured and knows how to flatter the female figure incredibly, also because she knows how to keep that structure young, and sophisticated rather than old and stuffy. Girl’s got an edge and I love it!
Holiday Heels!
Me Amour
My longgggg journey to capture a pair these suede wedges is finally over! I’ve stalked them for months, went from location to location to find them, only to leave empty handed every time. Which over the years because of my large mules I’ve grown accustomed to. Doesn’t suck any less though, so on a whim I thought I’d try my luck one more time in my small neighborhood mall while out picking up something, what I’ve no idea anymore because the sight of these shoes…in my size…blurs my memory from conjuring up anything before I lay my eyes on these. You all know a girl with big feet has some struggles, finding shoes that not only fit…but look good. These shoes fit both qualifications perfectly and I couldn’t be happier! They were a steal at 39.99 plus 20% off thanks to my subscription to payless’ promotional mailing list, came to $36 after tax!
I haven’t worn them out yet, but the next night out with the girls is probably when they’ll make their debut! Until then I’m on the hunt for a pretty dress or sweater to match!

Sweet Emotion
This year for Christmas I think I put together a pretty thorough short list of all the critical items I’ve wanted to get for a while. I put my usual items on there but one item in particular is a bottle of perfume. My nose is so sensitive and I’m such a sucker for a sweet smelling scent that I really want to get back to building my collection of alluring scents. Coco Chanel said it best when she said that perfume is a woman’s most important accessory and I think its totally true. I
When I think back on my most fondest memories two things always stand out for me, taste number one, because as you know I’m a super foodie, and smell. And when it comes to food, if it doesn’t smell good take it back! So naturally I was delighted when a representative at Krigler New York City offered me the opportunity to get a whiff of their latest line of up scents. They sent me two vials of perfume; #10 Subtle Orchid and #14 Lieber Gustav.
Krigler is a handcrafted perfumery that was established in 1904, since then they’e reopened in the Plaza Hotel in New York City, where they cater to celebrities and clients through custom consultations. You can actually create a custom scent thats all your own or create a fragrant candle using fine ingredients collected from around the world.
Lean Green Sweet Tasting Machine
Despite the cold and a hectic school schedule if you’ve been following me on Twitter you’ll know I’ve ben trying to stick with a routine workout regime and a balanced diet. I love a smoothie, even in winter I still find them to be incredibly delicious. A yogurt parfait always seems to hit the spot morning, noon or night you can catch me downing a cup full of fruit and nut covered yogurt. This particular smoothie flavour is one of my favourites, and is currently the way I’ve been having my yogurt as of late.
At first glance the green color could fool you into believing that this smoothies any good at all. But let me clear that up for you right now; the smoothie is the best thing smoking at 8:00 a.m. in the morning, and its ready in seconds flat. The main ingredient is spinach but paired with bananas and greek yoguirt, it makes for a cool, sweet treat.
Ingredients:
1 cup spinach
1 ripe banana peeled
1 tablespoon ground flaseed
A few cashews or nuts of choice (optional)
1/2 cup Almond milk
Simply place all ingredients in a blender and blend!
