The weekend is here! My god it seems to roll around faster and faster every week.  To start off the weekend I figure I’d share another summer look with you all.  Summer temperatures seems to be slowly rising in Toronto, yesterday surprisingly was one of the hotter days.

I came across this pic of model Anais on Altamira MOD and fell in love with the simplicity of this modern spring summer look. I personally can’t go anywhere without a jacket, cardigan or blazer because I’m a polar bear; always cold.

So this look is the epitome of perfection for me; a tank and shorts under a blazer that can be removed to adjust to the changing weather. Perfect!

Finish off this look with a soft rosy lip, and if absolutely necessary an eye shadow close to your skin color. A little blush and lightly applied mascara would also work this look out for day.

To make this look go from day to night rock a pair of modern sandals with a sporty edge and a studded bowler bag with some attitude.   Amplify your lashes and mascara and practise your best sexy pout for facebook!

Enjoy the weekend!!

Be Inspired by Red + and the winner is…

wear red

I love the color red, there’s something so powerful and seductive about a woman who walks into a room wearing red, whether it is a red lip, or a sexy red dress.   I swore up and down I’d integrate more color into my wardrobe; red is one of those colors I naturally shy away from I feel like it does nothing for my skin tone.  I may be absolutely wrong, so I’m going to give red another try.  I loved this look on Emilie of mylittlefashiondiary a stylish blogger from Luxembourg and thought I’d try and capture the same look with similar items.

A crisp white shirt and bright red pants here make a statement without coming off too strong, love the little burst of animal print on her purse it’s a great way to add another color that isn’t boring old black which would make this look a bit harsh for day.  I have no pants in my wardrobe that aren’t blue, black or brown…how boring.  Add that to the shopping list!

Fashion Inspiration: The Romper

Fashion Inspiration: The Romper

The romper is one of those pieces that does double duty; you can throw a blazer over it, leather jacket, leave it bare, throw a hat in the mix, and you can guarantee to create a whole new look every time.  A chic alternative to a dress, this one piece is great for taking on trips since they’re usually lightweight you can roll them up and save space in your suitcase!

I’m crushing on the romper this season because it takes all the guess work out of deciding what to wear, and as indecisive as my fashion loving butt is, I need a little simplicity in my life, and a great romper whether short or long delivers!

Summer Brights

I was inspired by the bright colors I noticed on celebrities last  week, including Miranda Kerr, Kelly Rowland and Amber Stevens in their fully saturated ensembles.  I’m a little reserved when it comes to color, but this summer is not the time to be color shy!

To create a real impact go for it full force in an orange tank and pink or yellow  skirt.  Candy colored nails and accessories are also a great way to create a quick summer splash to update a neutral outfit. Hope this outfit sparks a little fire under you!

Fashion Inspiration: Berry Melon

Because I work in the mall, every time I go in to work I’m surrounded by all the latest sales and promotions.  I always stop and take a look at Zara’s window display because the visual merchandisers do such an amazing job coordinating outfits.

I swear this one orange blazer in their display  just keeps calling my name! Orange is the color of a playful spirit and I’ve been feeling different lately; maybe a little orange is what I need right now.  Color blocking is huge right now so I paired  this gingham print red and black jacket, a little more  versatile  than straight orange with purple and pink for  cool was of berry hued itens,

Add a pink clutch and some orange pumps and vola!

Trend Watch: Can Sweat Pants Be Sexy?

Everyone seems to be busy with something these days, and outfits that do double duty are essential, but never before would I have thought that a pair of sweats could be considered couture.  Sweat pants have transcended the gym and mysteriously found their way on to the run ways of Isabel Marant, Rag and Bone, Bottega Veneta and Alexander Wang.

The key here of course is major tailoring, don’t think you can grab your ugly sweat pants and create the same illusion, not even close.  This snug but relaxed fit must be worn with a fierce pair of heels or a snazzy pair of flats; gladiator sandals perhaps.  Throw this causal luxe look together with a blazer and a cute tank and your ready to hit up the hottest events, dinners or even parties with your girls in classic comfort.

I’ve found a few budget and budget less sweats to get you started if you’re considering trying this look out.  I think I’ll give it a try, with the flats though at first I’m a sucker for comfortable shoes.

Think you’ll give this look a try?
