Was feeling Calvin Klienesque, came up with this last night while watching Drop Dead Diva.  Don’t ask me how they’re connected I’ve no idea, but Stacy was being a complete bitch, don’t let fame get to your head girl.

But back to my set;  Fur coat coats have been on my mind a lot lately especially since I excitedly washed my coat and fried my fur in the dryer…

It was heart breaking, one of the disadvantages of faux fur.  I try my best to be socially conscious of these sort of issues but sometimes it’s just not as good as the real thing.
I’d actually wear something like this, with some dark denim, tangy orange boots, and a simple white shirt.  Love it!  I found these really quirky glasses from Mary Kate and Ashley’s collection The Row which I’ve fallen in love with. It adds the little touch of odd that makes this look work, MK&A’s specialty.

Outfit Idea: Posh Parisian Princess

Posh Parisian Princess

Does there ever really need to be a reason to dress up? If you ask me; no.  I got tired of saving articles of clothing for this unspoken “special occasion” that never seemed to come a long time ago.  After building a closet full of items that I’ve probably only moved once to reach for my sweats, I decided enough was enough.
Dressing for my mood was the alternative route to planning what I was going to to wear each day, and I don’t mean emotions.  How can you keep it fresh?  Pick a theme and roll with it!  Come up with a word that you want to emulate, and work your way into a look that will morph you into that word personified.
My inspiration is posh. Today I want to look as though I’m at a bistro munching on baguettes and sipping aged red wine on the French riviera.  God knows I can only hope to do that once in my life, but dressing the part is a task I think I can manage.  An off white blouse, navy embellished skirt and a golden dipped accessories scream Victoria Beckham; modern sophisticate.  Of course we’d have to omit the flats, but my practical sensibility just will not allow it!

No you don’t have to enlist in the army to adorn yourself with the latest military trends; a pair of laced up boots for everyday has become my latest wardrobe staple.  I’ve searched high and low for a pair of these coveted boots, and thanked the heavens, when I found a pair large enough for my long boats to sail in!
Very British  ”grunge” by all accounts the look has taken its place in fall ensembles of many women this season;  reflective also of the downtown urban culture, the military queen is not one to be messed with!  I feel powerful in my boots, and I guess that’s the point; I’d hate to feel anything but if I were to really take on the enemy in something that should prepare me for battle. I’ve had them for about a week and can’t come up with an outfit without them! Obsessed…hmm maybe a little
A great way to keep from feeling too masculine is to combine the look with a fresh face complete with make up in soft pinks for lips and well defined brows.  Make sure each lash is coated in a healthy wash of mascara to emphasis lashes and keep a bright white smile on your face!  Accessorize with cognac leathers and conductor hats, this look is straight off the runway of many high end designers and easy to achieve, try it out and see for yourself.

Blogger 2011 Awards: Style Scrap Book

Entry #2 for the Polyvore 2011 Blogger Awards!  This time I went with Andy from Style Scrapbook, she’s one of the first fashion bloggers I came across before I decided to start my own blog.  Love her style and wish her luck in the battle for the number 1 spot!  Hope I have a fighting chance for that Chanel Purse!

Entry 1: Atlantic Pacific

Polyvore has a great contest running right now; The Polyvore 2011 Blogger Awards with 21 of the most popular fashion blogs in the running.  Of course I’m entering for a chance to win a Chanel purse, I’ll do anything! Requirements for this contest were to include a few of the items that say the name of the blogger you like most. I recently fell in love with the style of Blair off her blogAtlantic-Pacific, so I choose her for my first set. Can this girl dress or what?  There will be plenty more entries since we only have a limit of 20…I do say only.  I’ll aim for 10 and go from there though since I end up going through EVERY item Polyvore has when I make a set.
