Posh + Emerald Interiors

I picked up this bright emerald green by Revlon called Posh #571 at the Lisa Cosmetics sale this past weekend, which was a trip I will never forget – savings up the wa-zoo in there! I know I haven’t told you yet, but I will share my haul with you guys in an upcoming post! Anyway I’ve been searching for a gem toned green polish for a while now, so I was super happy to run into Posh! Definitely need two or even three coats to achieve the full color, but I toped coated it with China Glaze top coat and am very happy with the end result!

I could so see this color all over the hottest interiors right now, jewel tones are huge at the moment and a great way to punch up any space.

More emerald green interiors when you hit it!

Interiors: Rustique

At a scorching 33 degrees outside the heat wave has officially hit Toronto! For the next 3 days temperatures are going to sore above and beyond 33 degrees. Unless it involves me lounging in a chair with an ice tea in my hand, don’t think your going to catch me anywhere outside without the air conditioner…no sir…not today.  If I had a patio like this however, I could be persuade to retract that statement.  I would literally live out on my deck, who could argue with a set up like this? I immediately fell in love with this deck…its just so my style I had to come up with a story board to match.

Frame Work

I love pictures and as I start the dreaded process of packing and sorting through a garage full of what is more than likely non-essential items, I’ve rediscovered one of my many first loves. When I finally secure a location to call home, I plan to have a wall devoted just to photographs, more than likely in black and white.  I love the idea of having frames similar in color to the wall; it makes the images almost appear to float. My mind is buzzing with ideas!

Warm Winter Wonderland

Ever wish you had a place to retreat to when things maybe aren’t going your way?  A breath taking view; a haven concealed by the mountainous rocks, and icy snow like Aerin Lauder’s Aspen ski lodge would do just fine with me.  The senior vice president and creative director to one of the most successful cosmetic lines, clearly knows a thing or too about style.  The decor here designed by her friend Daniel Romualdez who also designed her Manhattan apartment created a gorgeous warm winter wonderland.

This space is filled with windows letting light in from all angels, despite being surrounded by ice all the different textures, the use of fur and warm brown woods keep the space toasty warm.  If there was a Starbucks near by I’d be sitting curled up by the fireplace all day with a Skinny Vanilla latte and a good book!

Livin’ Large in Small Spaces

Never doubt the potential of a space, even if it’s seems about as small as a sardine can.  There are many advantages to having a small space; it’s easy to clean, cozy, and hard to loose you car keys in..something that my fiance Jarratt seems to do quite a bit!  Although one day when I’m ready to settle down and pump the brakes on life, I definitely want my mansion..for now though I have my eyes set on a sizeable yet efficient apartment space.

Even in this small loft however gorgeous, you can see how every square inch becomes prime real estate; it can be hard to distinguish one area from the next without a plan.  A great way to do this is by organizing spaces with color and pattern; a rug can easily distinguish the living from the dining area.  And you don’t have to introduce a variety of colours when you take advantage of patterns and placement, any one space can have up to 20 different patterns without clashing! A perfect example is how they have places these 2 orange rugs above; one with and without a pattern.

Another great tip is to utilize organizational pieces like book shelfs that can be used as spatial dividers, and double as storage space for decorative items, books, or hidden compartments for video games…because you know no mans house is complete without that.

Also be sure to be consistant; in a small space you still need to keep in mind that pretty much everything is visible all at once, so when it comes to decor you still want to maintain the same overall style.  I found this gorgeous loft on freshhome.com and was inspired to start creating my mood board for my future apartment.  The hunt is still on, so wish me luck!

Check out the rest of this gorgeous space after the jump.
