The New Valentino HCSS 2010

The new Valentino collection by Pier Paolo Piccioli and Maria Grazia Chiuri is much different then the classic Valentino, and was inspired in part by Avatar with the blue pops of skin. Blindfolds, neon green, shades of pink, ruffles, form fitting sillhouettes in soft and light chiffons make the models other worldly. Chiffon has been a very popular material on the runways of Paris over the past week. Grecian draping and wrapping and the return to romance, or modern romance in this case is very refreshing.
Pastel Sweet Elie Saab Haute Couture S/S 2010

Lebanese designer Elie Saab presented his Spring/Summer 2010 collection this week. It’s full of soft muted colors, intricate embroidery, delicate flowers, and flowing hemlines. The ladies walked a beautiful mirrored catwalk in form fitting chiffon and heavy bead work.

Christian Dior Haute Couture Spring/Summer 2010

Bold vivid colors, in deep luxurious shades, over the top skirts, and make up that is completely over the top made up the equestrian theme of the show. Love the bright red hunting coat, the model looks strong and dignified, with a touch of mystery behind a black top hat complete with mesh veil.
The fourth model who was apart of the evening show, was every bit the dutches in hand embroidered tulle and lace, all all in one delicate wash of color.

Chanel Iman Walks The Christian Dior Show

Chanel Iman, is killing them softly at Paris Fashion Week, very softly in this all over white ruffle dress, pale lilac ankle boots and over sized hat she wears on the highest of angles at the Christian Dior spring/summer showing. Chanel has been in a ton of shows this week, and has been, and always will be one to watch in the days ahead. She has a way of transforming and channeling just the right energy for each show, which makes her versatile and invaluable as a model. One of my personal favourites, and a natural born beauty.
