Rihanna In Givenchy Optical Print Leggings
Rihanna wore a pair of unmistakable Givenchy Optical print leggings ($885US) from the S/S 2010 RTW collection this week while out partying at Merah night club in London. From the time I saw them a few months ago, I fell in love with them. There’s been a shift from the regular old Leggings, to statement making pieces this season that seem to be finding their way into just about every latest fashion shoot.
Rihanna paired hers with a grey long sleeved v-neck with a very sexy cropped back and black pumps. Royal or Spoil queens?
RAFW- Rachel Gilbert s/s 2010
Rosemount Australian Fashion Week (RAFW) just ended and I thought I’d share with you some of the highlights from my favourite designer Rachel Gilbert.
Rachel Gilbert, who worked in New York for hotel heiress Nicky Hilton’s line, branched off on her own and is now stationed in Sydney Australia, where she continues to build her own brand as of 2007.
Her signature includes gorgeous hand beaded evening gowns, some of which she showed off on the runway last week. The silver gown and the short black mesh mini are on my incredibly expensive wish list, too gorgeous for words. Check out the collection and judge for yourself.
Alter & Kiss Spring 2010 Lookbook
The Alter & Kiss Spring 2010 lookbook is composed of mostly the classic black and white color combination, full of clean lines, horizontal stripes, short, tail coats and open back cut outs. The styling here is quite simple and so are many of the looks, but it’s the collections simplicity which draws me in, the little subtleties of the open back really create drama without yelling at the top of your lungs.
More pics when you pop it.
Lanvin Can Chain Me Up Any Day
There has been an outpour of Lanvin accessories on the red carpet as of late, JLO among the few who wore a very sexy pair of chain T-straps from the spring 2010 collection. Lanvin has long had its shoe game down pat; favourite designer house by far Albert Elbaza has a keen eye for edge, done in a tasteful and sophisticated manner. The shoes from their spring 2010 collection are a perfect example of this. He’s taken classic shapes and added texture and hardware; snake skin, buckles, and multiple ankle chains, or an interesting architectural heel that warrants a second glance, he pays impeccable attention to detail. Maintaining a feminine touch while adding the strength of a seasoned biker chic is why I adore this collection.
Adrienne Bailon + Teyana Taylor @ Cavi Juniors Spring 2010 Runway Show
Who wears short shorts! Teyana Taylor and Adrienne Bailon were busy yesterday modeling in the Cavi Spring 2010 runway presentation at Macy’s in New York. Cavi originally and urban men’s line has pulled it out for the women this spring introducing their signature military flavour with a feminine twist. You can expect to find glossy windbreakers, rompers, dresses and shorts in bright colors. Both girls sported pieces from the collection and looked extra cute doing it. It also looks like Adrienne has a new hair cut, with the debut of blunt cut bangs framing her face. Both outfits are cute and as soon as the website is up (worst time to be down) you can check out Cavi here, or shop it on Dr.Jays.
Takashi Murakami + Louis Vuitton = Cosmic Bloom
Daisy Lowe does it up in a shoot for the new Takashi Murakami + Louis Vuitton Cosmic Bloom Collection which is available in store as of today. The line includes leather goods, apparel, and funky accessories all bearing of course his “super flat” fresh interpretation of the original trademark Louis V graffiti print.
Takashi Murakami is a Tokyo based artist who has made a giant wave in the fashion realm with his work which varies widely from watched sculptures and enormous balloons. I personally love the accessories, their cute and fun and I’m sure I’ll be seeing plenty of people rocking them this summer in down town Toronto where I’m from. The clothes, not so much kinda kidish..
