Goodbye 2011

Goodbye 2011.  This year as every year that passes seems to have gone by faster than the last.  Sitting here reflecting on all that has happened this year both in my personal life and my blog, there’s been a lot of highs and lows, all of which I am thankful for.

Not to get to philosophical on you guys while most of us are preparing on the eve of the biggest party of the year, but I’ve learned as great deal about myself this year.  I’ve learned how important it is to live.  And truly live, not just consume air.  Life is incredible delicate, and I’m thankful for all the connections I’ve made and for the ones that continue to grow stronger.

For 2012 I not only resolve, but also am committed to uncovering me. Happiness starts from within and radiates outwards.  That means I need to spend a lot more time getting to know the real me, and doing things and being with the people that I love.  That’s one thing I’ve neglected in the years past that must end.

To cast away the regrets of the past year and move towards a better and brighter one I thought I’d just share everything that has touched and inspired me from 2011 and bring that positive energy on with me in the next.

11 trends/things I loved about 2011 that I’ll draw inspiration from for my wardrobe in 2012:

  1. Pattern on pattern
  2. Layering color
  3. Sheers
  4. Blush tones
  5. Structured satchels
  6. Buckle details
  7. Menswear
  8. Rooney Mara
  9. Tortoise print
  10. Polka dots
  11. Red lips

Happy New Year everyone!!

My blogging may have stopped but my mind is in Christmas overdrive, so I thought I’d share my christmas list.

1. Michael Kors tote

2. Michael Kors watch

3. Lulu lemon scuba sweater

4. Zara blouse

5. Rachel Roy mixed charm collar

6. Michael Kors Josie sandal

Obviously I’m obsessed with everything Michael Kors…

Behati Prinsloo for H&M Fall 2011

I love H&M, they haven’t steered me wrong yet and this Fall 2011 campaign featuring model Behati Prinsloo speaks to the quirky character within me.  Using scarves to anchor each look, theres a great mixture of colours and textured knits; mustard doesn’t  seem to be loosing its grip, and many of he looks are a throw back to the loose and easy styling of the 80′s.

80′s baby yeah!  Its a double edged sword shopping is; I love whenI find a great item but hate checking my account, *sighs*. I’ll try and keep my fingers out of the cookie jar, but with the move towards snow I can’t deny myself a new hat now can I??  Not the hat shown below though..a little too “fierce” for my taste lol

Katy Perry in Philip Armstrong at the “Arthur” European premiere

Katy Perry and husband Russell Brand attend  the ”Arthur” European premiere.  Katy in Philip Armstrong looks stunning with her peach colored gown and metallic nails which are in vogue for spring. Katy’s shade is very unique.  I would suggest  Chanel Black pearl ($25) for a similar look.

Nails…check.  Rock…sparkling.

Summer Styles At ICE.com

Ice.com continues to be gracious to me and of course all my lovely readers, I must thank them for their consistent support!

They sent me this  lovely piece from their new Summer Styles selection I got it earlier this week and couldn’t wait to share it with you all!  I’ve been receiving numerous compliments from my co workers and couldn’t be happier with the necklace which actually is a blue Topaz, with diamonds and a trillium cut blue Sapphire.  It’s very light weight although the topaz is quite substantial you almost forget you have it on until someone points out how pretty it is!

Now as of today my Queens can snatch up your own pieces at 75% off the 10 items in Summer Styles selection, as well as 20% off all jewelery at ICE.com by using source code FBSS2 at the checkout. Here: http://www.ice.com/sem/2010/summer/summer-styles-a3.jsp

This coupon does expire on August 31st, 2010 so you really do only have the summer to take advantage of some incredible savings.  My piece retails for about $600 dollars, of course I was fortunate enough to receive it as a gift, but on the ice.com website it would only cost you $150….do I need to explain how much one would save?
