Goodbye 2011

Goodbye 2011.  This year as every year that passes seems to have gone by faster than the last.  Sitting here reflecting on all that has happened this year both in my personal life and my blog, there’s been a lot of highs and lows, all of which I am thankful for.

Not to get to philosophical on you guys while most of us are preparing on the eve of the biggest party of the year, but I’ve learned as great deal about myself this year.  I’ve learned how important it is to live.  And truly live, not just consume air.  Life is incredible delicate, and I’m thankful for all the connections I’ve made and for the ones that continue to grow stronger.

For 2012 I not only resolve, but also am committed to uncovering me. Happiness starts from within and radiates outwards.  That means I need to spend a lot more time getting to know the real me, and doing things and being with the people that I love.  That’s one thing I’ve neglected in the years past that must end.

To cast away the regrets of the past year and move towards a better and brighter one I thought I’d just share everything that has touched and inspired me from 2011 and bring that positive energy on with me in the next.

11 trends/things I loved about 2011 that I’ll draw inspiration from for my wardrobe in 2012:

  1. Pattern on pattern
  2. Layering color
  3. Sheers
  4. Blush tones
  5. Structured satchels
  6. Buckle details
  7. Menswear
  8. Rooney Mara
  9. Tortoise print
  10. Polka dots
  11. Red lips

Happy New Year everyone!!

Christmas Haul

Santa was very generous to me this year, even though I maybe wasn’t the nicest little girl.  I did however post my wish list last week…so it must have gotten into the right hands. I’m absolutely smitten by everything I received and can’t offer enough overbearing thanks and humble gratitude to my hubby for the iPod and watch.  And to my Kris Kringle this year, my sister in-law Celeste, thank you so much for the purse!

Spending the day enjoying the warmth indoors, bumping to Talk that Talk to be since 6:00a.m.

My new love

So it’s been a week since I’ve been back from our annual Niagara trip, I had a great time and am back into the swing of things at home.  I couldn’t go to Niagara Falls and not stop by the outlets including my favourite shop Coach!  I agonized over my choice between my usual classic black sensibility and going outside my comfort zone.  But after polling the other Coach fanatics taking advantage of the huge in store savings and BBMing pictures to my main squeeze, I took inspiration from the holidays and went red. I Haven’t looked back since, and am very happy with my selection.  I was looking for a compact cross body to wear with my backpack for school; this bag will be perfect.  I thought I’d go all the way and get a matching wristlet.  Not in the exact the same colour because I hate matchy matchy.  I got the wristlet in a patent leather just a few shades darker.

Christmas is only 2 days away! I hope everyone enjoys spending the holidays with their families, I certainly will. See you back here monday, Merry Christmas!!

Behati Prinsloo for H&M Fall 2011

I love H&M, they haven’t steered me wrong yet and this Fall 2011 campaign featuring model Behati Prinsloo speaks to the quirky character within me.  Using scarves to anchor each look, theres a great mixture of colours and textured knits; mustard doesn’t  seem to be loosing its grip, and many of he looks are a throw back to the loose and easy styling of the 80′s.

80′s baby yeah!  Its a double edged sword shopping is; I love whenI find a great item but hate checking my account, *sighs*. I’ll try and keep my fingers out of the cookie jar, but with the move towards snow I can’t deny myself a new hat now can I??  Not the hat shown below though..a little too “fierce” for my taste lol

Totes To Fall For

I just found out what the coming month will be like for me with the arrival of my school schedule.  Now more than ever, the reality of hitting the books night after long wearing night is really starting to set in.  Am I ready? I’m not sure but I don’t have much choice I’m going to hit the school year head on and do my best to keep up.

This realization of course sparks the “back-to-school” urges in me that I use to giggle and squeal over back in high school.  Nostalgic feelings about the big day are flooding back, although I highly doubt this year will have the same dramatic effect.  I’m a little bit more excited about what to wear, and what piece of arm candy I plan on marrying to my shoulder for the next few months.  Here’s a couple of totes I’ve got my eyes on, not necessarily planning on dishing out designer bucks but these bags are where my head is at in terms of style.  Any hot bags on your mind for school this year?

1. Coach Poppy $228

2. Guess $99

3. Urban Outfitters $69

4. Coach $428

5. See by Chloe $425

6. Urban Outfitters $59

7. Zara $49

New at Coach

Oh Coach how I love you!  My absolute biggest weakness is a fly Coach bag, I got my very first one last year and I can’t get enough.  While “window shopping” over at Coach.com I found all these beauties just waiting to be purchased!  Their newest edition the “Kristin” comes in both patent leather and patterns including a hot ikat version.  So there’s a vast variety to choose from for this one style, which I love because it just oozes posh.

Not only that there were cute accessories like the parrot keychain ($38) which is a cute gift for a summer birthday or a bracelet ($178) that makes a good gift to splurge on for yourself!

  1. parrot key ring $38
  2. kristin elevated leather crossbody $218
  3. sandy frozen rope ring set $68
  4. new kristin ikat slim envelope $218
  5. kristin leather satchel $358
  6. new kristin patent hippie $258
  7. sandy charm bracelet $178
  8. kristin elevated leather sage round satchel $698
  9. new kristin embossed python crossbody $228
  10. madison leather checkbook wallet $238
  11. madison shantung chainlink small wristlet $58
