Be Inspired: Thanksgiving Dinner

Be Inspired: Thanksgiving Dinner

If you’re like me comfort almost always wins out over style; so this thanksgiving while you’re with family you maybe haven’t seen in years, you can be thankful not only for they’re company but that your stomach has room to expand after a hearty thanksgiving dinner!

Cropped boyfriend jeans and an over sized cardigan over a tank like this striped one easily go from 0 t o100 with the addition of gold detailed booties like these ones. This look doesn’t take too much thought but will leave you looking polished with little effort.  Simple, chic and not overdone, almost exactly what I plan on wearing to chow down this weekend, positively cannot wait!

Hope everyone is thankful for another day, make your mark!  Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Mad About Marigold

Fall has never looked so bright with everyone going crazy over this sun kissed hue; Marigold is kind of a big deal. H&M actually has 2 items (a dress and shirt like #5) I’m kicking myself for not picking up sooner in this color, which would have looked bomb with a pair of navy tights and loafers…

If rocking a bright frock isn’t your cup of tea there are plenty more subtle ways to do the Marigold; a cute pair of shoes or a tote for school you can never go wrong with strong accessories.  Even when it comes to home fashions pair this color with neutrals; brown, beige, grey and of course black or white for maximum impact.

It’s not too late though so I have some hunting to do; I’m trying to be hot enough to melt some ice caps this year!  Get em here:

Looks We All Love From J.Crew

I’ve seen the light, and don’t ever plan on going back!  Bright colors continues to go strong into the fall season, I for one am all for it seeing as most of my life I’ve spent locked up in black and white.  I’m all for minimalism but with collections like this “Looks We Love” for J.Crews Fall launch I’ve learned minimalism doesn’t mean black and white.

Liu Wen and Jacquelyn Jablonski demonstrate how to marry both minimalism and color blocking into one happy family.  All the pretty colors makes you want to jump up and sing just  a little bit doesn’t it?

The fast approaching fall season is both saddening and exciting for me; summer will soon be but a memory and It’ll mean school is about to start. (O yeah I haven’t mentioned that till now) Yes This september I’m headed back to the big house to further expand my noggin with useful tidbits of information.  This also means more outfit posts to share..Yay!

Crushing on the first two looks above and the third one with the beige trench directly below.  I still need to pick up a colorful pair of pants.  Put that on the to do list.  [images via]

Time to Grow Up

I’ve noticed, as I’ve gotten older there’s been a shift in what I consider to be stylish, or chic. I’ve always gravitated towards clean lines or modern and very tailored looks, not to say that I don’t like being trendy but not until very recently in my adult life have I felt the desire to emulate this sort of distinguished career woman sort of look on a regular basis.

I’m still young yes only 24, and I won’t give up my youth but theoretically I’m feeling like it’s time to grow up and replace my sneakers with flats and heels, and my purses with Birkins…if only my ass could afford one!

The looks from Chole’s fall 2011 lookbook boast that very sophisticated tailored look my heart can’t seem to get enough of right now.  Broken down and paired with some trendy pieces these other wise mature looks could work out very nicely.  I imagine the striped poncho in second row paired with some black biker boots and black legging to punch it up for fall in the city.  Loving every bit especially the pistachio colored blazer and all of the heavy knits.

I think it’s getting close to that time for me to start really being a woman, Wow already, where does the time go?

Burberry Prorsum Resort 2012

Beanie caps, zig zags patterns, geometric shapes, wooden beads, in chrome yellow, malachite, azure, and emerald covered and surrounded the traditional Burberry trench which has yet to loose it’s appeal.  For the Burberry Prorsum Resort 2012 collection, the signature trench is still very intact but doused with orange and yellow piping, even being done in electric red leather.  But the hottest thing for me has got to be the shoes….insane!

Chanel ‘Collection Croisiere Show 2011-12′ Show

The Chanel Cruise collection is all about lux living, beach side glamour, and soaking up the sun in your finest shades.  The show which took place on the French Riviera was a magnificent sight to be seen.  The show started an hour late but I can imagine not being bothered at all as I would stroll up the boardwalk surrounded by beautiful architecture, mansions stories high and lush greenery with trusty my camera in hand.

The pieces that made their way down the runway had Chanel’s easy but luxurious stamp marked all over them, black and white were the core of many of the looks, floral prints ruled and hem lines were long.  Who wouldn’t feel like royalty here?
