Kitty with an Attitude

If you love Hello Kitty about an ounce as much as I do, then you have a few reasons to look forward to this coming Thursday!  I was just informed by a lovely PR rep named Sara that on July 28th Sephora will be launching an all new Hello Kitty Graffiti fall 2011, Hello Kitty Beauty by Sephora line.  I personally was … and still am one of those ridiculous Hello Kitty fanatics that would hoard every Hello Kitty novelty item I came across if given the chance.  Fortunately for me or him come to think of it my fiancé would never allow such a thing; what man would allow their home to be invaded but cute cuddly animated kittens???

The line pays tribute to graffiti artists that splatter their art on all of Kitty’s favourite spots; the line includes a make up bag, a tiered palette which included 4 eye shadows and 2 blush/bronzers, ‘rollergirl’ roll-on perfume, a compact mirror and a 5-piece brush set housed in an adorable collectible, molded Hello Kitty Graffiti container.

This line unfortunately like all good things won’t be available for long, I intend on checking out Sephora this week as I’ve checked out the U.S. Sephora site and they already have the collection for sale.   I think for my purposes I’d snag the brush set $49 and the make up bag $28; way too cute!

Beauty| Revlon Raspberry Rapture #350

I’m still very much in love with any and everything pink, this particular shade I noticed on one of my best friends Aaliyah.  We were driving and I looked over at the steering wheel, saw this full bodied pink and fell in love.  Almost impossible to miss in the store I picked up the right bottle without even looking at the name.  Raspberry Rapture is what they call her, she’s on of Revlon’s scented shades.  I didn’t notice the smell too much other than the fact that it was the usual pungent overbearing scent most polishes carry.

Two coats of this stuff is acceptable but better stick with three for optimum coverage and long wearing.  I’ve been wearing mine since Wednesday and they’re still going strong, making sure to wear gloves of course when attacking the pile of dishes in the sink.  I miss my dishwasher!  Only $6 on sale at Shoppers, Revlon is my go to for great colors on a budget.

Hey yall Happy Monday!!!   I’m back from my extremely fun long weekend!  I had the weekend off and definitely made the most of it reconnecting with my girls Aaliyah and Heavenly.  (If you aren’t already follow Heav on Twitter she’s Hilarious!)

The weekend started at 4:00 pm Thursday evening, Aaliyah scooped me up from work and we were off!  Spent the rest of the night and next morning at her place and visited this bomb place my poor taste buds have been missing for the past 24 years; Cold Stone Creamery.  My new guilty pleasure! Once I got home I googled where I could find the closest location because until that night I had no idea they could be found in Tim Horton’s location across Ontario!

They have amazing smoothies organized in sized not by small medium large but by desire; “Like it” “Love it” “Gotta Have it”..too cute!  I got the “Love it” Strawberry Banana flavour, dare I say that it’s better than the regular real fruit smoothies Timmies has now…

The next day we spent celebrating Canada Day at my place, we ate Lick’s Nature burgers, which tasted amazing, talked, laughed and cuddled with loved ones and a big hunk of ice cream cheese cake by the fire.  All in all a night I will never forget, especially the wack fireworks we got, which seemed to be the worst on the block! It was so fun though it didn’t even matter.

Today though it’s back to work, and back to blogging I missed you all!  I’ve been reading up on how to create and better blogging experience not only for you my lovely readers, but to make life a little easier for me; I created a schedule after reading this article on heartifb.com

Mondays are officially dedicated to everything beauty; this lipstick I picked up from MAC is first on the list!

I’ve been eyeing this shade for such a long time that I probably got on Heavenly’s nerves for not going in sooner to pick it up, she dragged me in this Sunday while we were out on the town for Toronto’s PRIDE 2011 events.  Cost me a cool $17 but was worth every penny..or dollar…

Girl About Town #A51 is a very bright Nicki Minaj pink…it’s the best way I can describe it since she seems to be inseparable from this color.  I won’t lie I was really scared to wear it and actually made it half way to work but chickened out and wiped it off.  Maybe a bit much for telecommunication sales…

It’s one of MAC’s amplified creme lipsticks, it glides on very smooth and has the tiniest bit of shine making your lips appear moist and hydrated.  A color like this I’d wear on a regular day (not at work though) with very little or no eye make-up, just because the color is so bright I’d hate to look like a clown.  Absolutely in love! I think I’ll wear it to my sister in laws bachelorette next weekend so stay tuned for that!

PS. The Orient Watch Give Away is Now Closed and the winner will be contacted shortly. Stay tuned to see who won!

Nails: Revlon Electric #305

Y-e-l-l-o-w!  I’ve been searching for a yellow that wasn’t too bright, but sunshine enough to brighten my day!  Came across this lovely shade by Revlon called Electric#305.  It’s one of their new shades that actually does dry in “Top Speed”.  Leave it to me to have just painted my nails and end up sending a long scratch through it because I touched something or tried to bbm in between coats.

It took me 3 coats to obtain a solid color, which is a bit much for my accident prone self but I do adore this color so it’s worth the wait.  It has a slight sparkly finish to but it isn’t noticeable from a distance. I ened up doing my toes to match, better be sunny outside tomorrow so I can rock my sandals. Over all love this color!

Color Inspiration: Knee Deep in Mint

No color has me tripping this spring then what has become my favourite go to color; mint.  Perfectly in tune with pastels, and compliments just about anything, this lux hue seems to be just about everywhere! Seen on the runways of both Max Azria and Monique Huillier’s Spring 2011 Runways, stars like Kerry Washington showed up to the Met Gala in her beautiful mint colored Escada cut out dress.

I continually receive compliments on my minty tipped nails, and when ever I’m feeling uncertain about a color I fall back on my Revlon Minted which I picked up for just under $6!

Get inspired which some of these hot items in this lovely hue! From bottom right:

Jbrand Jeans $346, Fendi pantent peep toe $580, Urban Outfitters ruffled pillow $14.99, Les Tropeziennes $360, Essie nail color Mint Candy Apple $11.99
