Beauty: It-Tastes-As-Good-As-It-Feels Face Mask

Image Via Google images

With the holiday season rolling around fast expenses are really starting to pile up.  A trip to the spa this time of year could put a real dent in your wallet faster than it’ll take for the polish on your toes to dry!   To cut costs and still feel pampered Jessica Metivier, America Now Beauty Pro shares some of her DIY beauty tips with us, including this simple edible facial mask, that taste as  good as it feels.  I should know – I eat a variation of this recipe almost everyday!

1 ripe banana – moisturizing agent

1 tablespoon of honey – natural humectants, retains moisture

2 tablespoon of unsweetened, plain yogurt – lactic acid, exfoliating agent

Mash 1 ripe banana in a bowl with a fork. Then add 2 tablespoons of plain, unsweetened yogurt.

Then add a tablespoon of honey and mix with a spoon.

Use your hand and apply the mixture on your face, avoiding the eyes.

Wait for about 15 minutes or until completely dry.  Then rinse off with cool water.

This mask is a great way to restore moisture to dry uneven skin, close enlarge pores and put a little pep in your step before work.  Try it!

True Beauty: Skindinavia Makeup Finishing Spray

After having limited or no access to my server, I’ve finally gained access to my wordpress hosting to share with you the latest product on my dresser; Skindinavia.  Thank you so much to the people of Skindinavia who reached out to let me try this product, I was happy to do it!

I have oily skin, so I have a little issue with a few m’s:  Me, make-up and moisture!  I can go from set to wet in what seems like 20 seconds flat, and I’ve tried primers, blotting towels, all no no avail.  Enter Skindinavia’s make up setting spray.   With 2 types to choose from, oily or normal; I relied heavily on this little bottles performance on a very important day…my sister in laws wedding.  I was very impressed not only with my oil control, but ultimately this sprays purpose was its ability to lock my make up into place for up to 16 hours.

The I wore it for about 11 or 12 hours, and for that time worked amazing.  Just a few spritz across the face kept me as cool as a cucumber…yes I know that’s so corny…but true!  Appearing in many major magazines, like Allure and Glamour this setting spray is on a lot of people’s radar, now its on mine!  and it should be on yours too.   Skindinavia was so kind to send me a second bottle so stay tuned for details this week on how you can win your very own in my next give away!

For $29.00 its on the pricey side but I think worth the money; you’ll be getting a fair amount which shoul last about 2-3 months depending on how often you wear makeup on a daily basis.

Have you had any experience with this product or any other make up finishing sprays?  Let me know what you thought!

What Are Your Nails Going to be for Halloween?

 Images via Weheartit & Tumblr

Fast approaching is the big day — Halloween!  I have no clue what I would be if I were going out, (Haven’t decided yay or nay just yet)  but I do know that nails are an avenue often left unexplored for the festivities. Ever consider blood spatter as a fashion statement?  Halloween might be the only time it would be fashionable to get blood on your hands, but these designs are just so clever I wouldn’t mind sporting pumpkin jeweled tips long after Halloween is over and done with!

Nicki Minaj for OPI Nail Collection

Whose more sparkly than Nicki Minaj?  OPI teams up with the black Barbie herself to bring us a collection of nail colors that’ll be sure to have your fingernails dancing and singing in unison!  With each color named after titles of her songs; Super Bass, Did it on ‘Em, Save Me, Fly, Pink Friday and Metal for life will be available as early as January 2012.  I’m ticked pink with anticipation, my favourite right off the bat has got to be Metal for life, metallics are perfect this time of year. Which color you are in love with? [Images via oh no they didn't/colourfulvanity]

Nanoblur…Blur Away Imperfections in 40 Seconds

Fresh faced skin care is going to be of the up most importance in the months to come.  When summers over, I pull out all my creams, serums and moisturizers to keep my skin bright and healthy through the colder months.  Like I’ve mentioned before I have super oily skin which is a blessing and a curse.  Let’s just say people rarely believe I’m old enough to have a 3 year old, so that’s probably where the blessing is.

My mother in law or who I like to call mommy #2, was telling me all about this new product she picked up called  Nanoblur and all the magazines are raving about.  Giving you back 10 years in 40 seconds is with the 1 oz. bottle proclaims, and after trying it for myself I agree! I wouldn’t say I look 10 years younger…that would make me 14… but like the packaging states it immediately corrects the look of enlarged pores, fine lines and wrinkles.

The best part about it for me is that my oily skin is instantly cool and matte. I wore it to a wedding I attended last week and even through weaving in and out of tables and dancing guests my face never became more than dewy, and it was a welcome fresh faced glow that people try to achieve on purpose. Loved it.

You’re supposed to use it as the last step in you beauty regime if you don’t wear foundation like myself or after your foundation if you do.

I would classify this product as a primer/skin corrector.  No long term benefits just pure and blissful instant gratification. I’ve been wearing it everyday for the last 4 days since I picked it up.   At $19, I’ll be buying more of these when I run out.  I love how flawless it makes your skin appear. If you want to try it for yourself you can find them at drug stores like Shoppers Drug Mart or buy direct from their website.  Nanoblur.com

Enjoy the rest of the long weekend!  Only 2 days before school!

Have you tried nanoblur?  What do you think?

(This was not  sponsored post, everything said here was my own opinion)
