With Halloween behind us and the holiday season fast approaching, I’ve taken refuge in the gym, to try and mitigate the inievitable damage I will no doubt cause my waistline this season. As much as I enjoy food I do plan on not having to replace anything in my wardrobe. That said not only fitness but diet is clearly crucial in maintaining ones figure; thank god for Greek yogurt.
Just about my favourite thing on earth Greek yogurt has a thick consistency, full of protein and mysteriously satisfying. You wouldn’t think 3/4 of a cup would get you very far, but I often go straight to lunch with out the painful stomach pangs and clock monitoring that occurs when you skip breakfast. In terms of caloric value, yogurt overall its a great option for dieters because it’s so low in calories, but you also want to make sure that you avoid yogurts that are high in sugar. Some labels will trick you into thinking that their product is best because it happens to only have 100 measly little calories in it. But when fat content gets over 6 and sugar levels over 15 you might want to reconsider that purchase; you might as well eat ice cream.
Yogurt is on multifaceted item, and I love it! The best one I’ve come across is Presidents Choice Greek plain yogurt, I stress plain, the more flavours you add the higher the calories and sugar. At only 120 calories I add dried fruit like raisins, dates, apricot and so on with slivered almonds or flakes of bran cereal, perfect for a quick breakfast, lunch or dessert.
Try any Greek Yogurt lately??
