How Short is Too Short???

Now I know Kelly has amazing legs, so many women in Hollywood do. I mean it’s part of their job to maintain a certain image.  But when I saw Kelly in this mini dress I thought wow, that dress is two steps from being a shirt…a little short my friend…

Is there anything today that actually considered too short? Am I just a frumpy old woman or are there actual limits one should consider?  I don’t think I am conservative at all; I adore some of the very scandalous outfits that Rihanna and numerous other daring celebs wear, and wish I had some reason to throw something like that on.  So why this grabbed me, I’m not totally sure, but I did want to check out what you all though on the subject.

In real life something like this might not fly where you’re from, side eyes and glares may burn right through your back.  I know I blog about fashion everyday and have come across many wild images but I still do a double take when I see a chick in a skirt that ends where her crotch begins.  I mean I know it’s hot, but c’mon…

Is it okay to resemble a street walker on occasion? (lol I’m kidding..but seriously) Is it okay to walk into the grocery store lookin’ like this? Or is this a look best left for the club, if even there?  I think the issue of function should also be mentioned. Is this look practical? Can you dash up a flight of stairs with out getting stares?????

Where’s your limit?  For me a mini skirt is a mini skirt at mid thigh, no higher.  Plus I’m tall so I’m really cautious about the things I wear; there’s people down there…lol.

Let me know, where does the hem line stop for you?

  • I think my current blog post is the short cut off for me. I only started wearing short skirts within the last few months, before that I was always a tight pencil skirt type of gal.

  • I used to work in retail and cringed time and time again when girls would come in each Friday and Saturday night and pick out medium length to long shirts to wear as dresses (without tights) to the clubs. Ever since then I’ve been very careful to monitor how much of my upper thigh is showing! I can also usually tell if something is too short by the look on my boyfriend’s face. But then again he’s a bit of a prude when it comes to my wardrobe lol ;)

lmao @ Brooke, the boyfriend test is a tried tested and true method.

  • I guess it has to do with each individuals own comfort level but I myself would rather not dress like this.In the end all it really accomplishes in doing is attracting unwanted attention from asshole men. It’s sad that the world has to be like that but unfortunately it just is.

  • It depends. Where is the dress being worn? I thought nothing of wearing a short dress when I went out in Miami. But, when on South Beach partying that is no big deal.
Now for other times I gone out I have toned it down. But, truthfully I rarely wear them super short.

  • This is too short! In my opinion, you can show off your beautiful legs without the danger of showing off waaaay more than you had intended.

My style is sophisticated, professional, alluring and powerful. It says “respect me”. Skirts up to you-know-where do not.

  • I think I am the only twenty-year-old who prefers that my skirts/dresses hit the knee area, I don’t do the whole short short dress thing. I think in part because I have a fuller bum, hips, and thighs these dresses WILL ride up and become a shirt by the end of the day…NOT a good look lol. I’m also more into dressing modestly, though showing a lil skin here and there ain’t a problem!!! Plus I’m on the petite side so anything past my knees is not flattering…
