True Talk True Queen: Diane of Africana Wardrobe Diary
For this edition of True Talk True Queen, let me introduce you to Diane of Africana Wardrobe Diary, a fashion forward Nigerian Atlanta native, whose blog focuses mainly on her personal style, but also includes the occasional editorial spread and anything else that inspires her. Who said you can’t have it all; with beauty, brains and a keen eye for style, I highly recommend checking her out!
What I love most about Diane is she’s not one to necessarily follow trends; she dresses for herself before anyone, and understands and appreciates her body. With numerous features for her impeccable taste in Glamour, Lavish, Who What Wear and Look 10, her chic effortless style is definitely note worthy; a real True Queen!
How would you describe your style?
I’d say my style is Mine. My style is usually feminine and colorful, its sometimes boyish but always comfortable. Basically an eclectic mish mash of however I feel that day.
Purse or shoes which one makes a bolder statement?
Most definitely shoes! I’m probably biased though, because I have a weakness for shoes. But shoes can completely transform a plain outfit to an interesting one.
Who or what has been your greatest fashion influence?
My mother. She taught me to love my body, and to always dress for myself first, and I think those two things have been very crucial to my style.
What item of clothing do you wish that more people wore?
Dresses. They make getting dressed soo easy. I don’t think people realize how easy it is to get dressed when all your doing throwing on is a dress.
Name your top 3 favourite high fashion designers.
Christian Lacroix, Tracy Reese and African designer Tiffany Amber
How would you describe fashion in Atlanta?
Emerging. We’re no New York City, we’re still trying to shake the country image that people get when they think of the south. So it’s a work in progress, but we’re progressing.
In your purse you can find..? (what’s in your purse right now)
Blackberry, Bigelow Lip Balm, Ipod, a pen and a pencil, my wallet, mints and spare earrings. lol

Name 3 fashion bloggers you adore.
The culture cynic, Dressed up like a lady and Silvia Couture
If you were a shoe which shoe would it be?
Anything designed by Michael Kors or Jessica Simpson.
Favourite/least favourite spring 2010 trend?
Favorite: Color, Least favorite: harem pants
