Late last month I was very excited when I shared the news of Boxing Kitten’s soon coming spring 2010 lookbook.  Thankfully I was dropped a tip by Emily that the release party was actually last night on the Soho roof top at Etnie’s Showroom in NYC and it was for the Resort 2010 collection.  Maya A. Lake the divine mind behind the label poses with models above all dressed in clothes from her label.

The line has the same African flare I’ve come to know love about the label.   I’d like to get my hands on a few pieces, including that purple jumpsuit.  There’s so many events going on in the city, and now that I’m back and actually living an active social life…(one which I’ve been deprived of for several months)  I’ll have more reasons to dress up and post outfit pics!

I’ll have the lookbook for the collection to share with you sometime next week so make sure to check back for that see exactly what Boxing Kitten has in store this season, but from the looks above I’m sure I’ll be in love.

As mentioned before the collection is inspired by Josephine Baker and features bold prints mixed with fun silhouettes true to their “ethnic rockabilly” signature. Boxing Kitten is a favourite among the stars, included Beyonce and Alicia Keys (who recently rocked the look for Alicia’s video Put it in a Love Song), Rihanna, Solange Knowles, Kelis, Fergie, Goapele, and many more.

British Singer Estelle was also present at the event, she arrives appropriately in a Grace Dress from the Boxing Kitten Fall 2009 collection, a, denim jacket, and black strappy wedges. America’s Next Top Modelers Kim Stolz and Naima Mora twin sister Nia Mora who modeled some of the looks, were also in attendance.
