Trend Watch: Hurray For Chambray!

Ever wonder what that really thin denim like material that seemed to rock the 80′s and 90′s?  Well it’s called Chambray and it’s making a comeback in a very large way.  Seen on the runways of Matthew Williamson, Gucci, and J.Crew chambray a lightweight fabric most commonly made from cotton, is a great alternative to heavy denim.

Pop it for the look. I use to have a chambray shirt back in the day, and am kind of glad the trend is back, I thought they were cool back then until they become faux paux…. You can get them in jumpsuits, skirts, shirts, hats and dresses.  Chambray looks really good when layered like the Gucci example above, with just a touch of blue peaking through.  Most commonly worn casually, take your hand at dressing a Chambray dress up for night with a leather jacket and some ankle boots.  It won’t take you to a ball but a night out with the girls will do just fine. Check out some of my Chambray style picks.
