Oprah who co-hosted the Met’s 2010 Costume Gala this year along side Vogue’s Anna Wintour and Partick Robinson of Gap, really did look great in her navy blue Oscar de la Renta ruffle skirt gown, as she walked the red carpet with the designer himself.  The curls of her hair coordinated very nicely with what was going on in her dress. The V-neck it a little deep for my tatse but it isn’t completely dreadful either…I’ll let it slide I have a bigger bone to pick in a minute.

Oprah’s bestie Gayle King was also there and in purple dress, which I’m not…sure..I like very much.  I mean its not terrible but it could have been better.  I think it’s the over sized peplum skirt that seems to be killing it for me..or that shade of purple.  Not sure.  What do you think? Royal or Spoil?

Eva Mendes looked like a Spanish queen in her Dolce and Gabbana floral mermaid dress.  I love this silhouette, it also happens to be a fav of Ms. Beyonce.  It’s one of those shapes that is very flattering and hard to screw up. If you have no hips this is also a good go to shape to fake what you don’t have.

M.I.A and Zoe Kravitz walked the red carpet with the designer of their outfits Alexander Wang, whose looks will be auctioned off on Gap.com today.  Not too fond of M.I.A’s look as usual she’s over the top, maybe a nude jumpsuit instead of a black one would have been less offensive…

I do however love Zoe’s look, it’s simple and clean, the clutch and gloves are all pieces I will soon covet.  She’s the epitome of an American woman which was the theme of the evening.

Thandie Newton, Rachel Roy and Liya Kebede also graced the red carpet.  Thandi, in a purple Vivienne Westwood gown, which she accessorized with a green cocktail ring and necklace.  Rachel Roy took her muse Liya Kebede in her own design which looked stunning.
