Style Stylo: Storm Had it Going On

Growing up I was a complete nerd..well still am but that besides the point.  The point is I was a comic book junkie, and yes I enjoyed all the action and crazy art work, but what else drew me in was the fashion.  Yes there was and is fashion in comics, and who ever drew them were to a degree fashion forward because all the costumes and disguises the characters wore were styled to the T..even the bad guys…

I am female so I did take close note of what the females wore, and what their whole swag was like.  My favourite character of course was Storm from the X-Men, it was nice to have a sista to look up to in ink form. She was gorgeous, strong, wise and had incredible powers to control the weather, so girls hair was never threatened by the rain unless she said so.

But her outfits were redonkulous…she had curves for days, and embraced and accentuated every curve in many  looks that are being rocked out right now on red carpets and center stage.  The exaggerated shoulders, skin tight leggings, knee high boots, funky lightning bolt earrings, cut outs and leather are all relevant at this very moment.

Even her hair was a wild statement at the time, but currently you can find many people deliberately coloring their hair white, or a very pale blue or purple as showcased on the runways of Chanel Spring Summer 2010 couture collection.  I always loved it, it made her seem powerful and untouchable in some sense because despite the color of her hair she oozed confidence that demanded attention.  She knew what was up from the jump, storm apparently controls more than the weather.
